The VIXI concept was dreamed up a few years ago, by the team at V3 and Lotech Media.
V3 is at the forefront of expressive exhibition stands. At Lotech, we’ve been combining technology and creativity for over 10 years to bring major events such as Splore, Rhythm and Vines and the Vodafone Music Awards to life.
We knew that while normal photo booths had been around for many years, in the era of the selfie, they were becoming less relevant and we figured we could develop a unique offering of our own.
Thus VIXI was born, or at least the idea of VIXI was born.
First we had to buy cameras – lots of cameras. Not just any camera either, this is state of the art equipment.
But buying high quality cameras was the easy part.
We then had to work out how to get them to all take a photo of the same thing at the exact same time.
We then had to find a way to transform these images (up to 36) into a video within seconds, that could be shared with friends and family, played in big screens at events and more.
That was the hard part but our software team love a challenge and within a few months they had things up and running.
From there VIXI was in demand at major events such as the Vodafone Music Awards, where we’ve been used year after year.
VIXI has also been used at events for Bayleys Real Estate, 2Degrees Mobile and Starship Hospital.
But while big brands love VIXI because it brings their event to life, the most important thing to remember is that participants love VIXI because it’s so much fun!
